2nd Day on the Wagon

I am dreaming and craving and salivating for a nice medium cooked rib eye steak, loaded baked potato and MAYBE corn on the cob with butter and sprinkled w/ sugar. :o) Uh huh... I'm a fat girl. lol.

It is just under 48 hours since I have been a vegetarian and with the exception of that last thought, I’m doing pretty good. Last night I planned out all of my meals for today and it seemed to do me well. I decide what times I felt I should be eating, decided what I had a taste for and filled in the blanks from there. Although this is only Day 2, I am feeling QUITE confident.

The only issue I can for see coming this week is temptation. **AS IF THAT WASN'T OBIVOUS**

My boyfriend, Andrew is also getting on this healthy bandwagon with me. He is eating more times a day to help boost his metabolism and making better food choices as well. (Correction: I am making better food choices for him.)  But it's a team effort. I plan the meals and he plans the work outs.

But back to that temptation I was talking about... Andrew is allergic to a lot of different fruits and veggies, so there is NO WAY he would be able to do this diet with me. So I just end up making boneless skinless chicken breast and broccoli. Now I am sure you can imagine the OVERWHELMING temptation that tries to take over me when I am making his meals. I mean when you heat the EVOO in that pan and sear the garlic, add the chicken breast and smell the seasonings as they seep in to the meat.....Watch the clear juices flow down in to the pan and the aroma come up and surround you...............

And all the while I get to munch on a nice, crunch stalk of celery. Yeah...it's like that. lol. But again I remember how I got here and why I am doing this and only sneak a small 1 inch bite of his chicken. :o)

Day 1......

Okay so here we go……

Today is Sunday January 30, 2011. Today is the day I start my weight loss transformation. I have been considering and procrastinating on this journey for a while now and I am just finally ready to give in.

My mother has always been supportive and helpful in my want to be thinner. She has even gone leaps and bounds herself. She has lost 40+ pounds and looks amazing! I want to be where she is. I want to be able to look in the mirror and not see imperfections.  I mean I’m not trying to be “perfect” just better. So I am taking her guidance and doing the things that she has done to help herself. This diet is a lifestyle change. I am in this game to change my eating habits for LIFE. That’s a long time. :o)

Now I don’t have the book to read and follow it to the tee but my mom is filing in the blanks. The first Phase of this process is the detoxification part. It is just like it sounds and every bit are difficult as it sounds as well. The list of the things I cannot eat are as follows:

Beef                             Chicken                                    Seafood
Pork                             White Rice                               Potatoes
Pasta                            Bread                                       Cheese
Sugar                           Candy                                      Fruit Juice

And the list goes on… the things I am “allowed” to eat are:

Fruits                            Vegetables                               1 cup Brown rice
½ Sweet Potato            clear broth soups

….Ummm yup that’s about it. For the next 10 days I am a new found vegetarian! Yippee! Can you sense the sarcasm?

Its only 1:30 in the afternoon and I am already doubting my willpower… We will just have to see where this goes.

Meals

Breakfast/Lunch                       Oatmeal with apples

Dinner                                      Sauteed Spinach with mushrooms and bean sprouts
                                                1cup of brown rice
